Anytime someone is visiting South Florida, there are a few required spots to check out. For some fun in the sun there is Fort Lauderdale and Miami beach and for lunch time there is always La Brasa. But when it comes to Hip Hop it is a must that you stop by and get down at Catalyst.
Catalyst has been a huge supporter of Fusik since day one. Some of our first performances were there and we have continued to perform there at least once a year. Catalyst is a place where anyone can go to express themselves through hip hop and have always opened their doors for me, my crew and my band to do what we do. In fact the first Outbreak took place at catalyst back in 2003.
Catalyst started out in the parks as small park sessions then Saturday nights and now almost 11 years later they provide 4 days a week and have expanded to a second location in West Palm. They hold monthly bboy battles, weekly free workshops, graffiti wall, monthly MC night and Dj Lessons. They are heavely involved in south Florida’s hip hop community and has been a consistent facilitator of the growth of our local scene. At the core of their mission is not just bringing people together for the growth of hip hop but giving people an opportunity to learn and be open to spiritually. Catalyst is a Christian based ministry to reach out to the youth and is there for those who want to learn and never force anything on anyone.

Wow, so Catalyst is no longer just Saturday nights?! Awesome, I might have to reconsider moving back to South Florida juuuust for Catalyst. Love you guys, and all the fun I had cypherin to your musik. And of course, extra kudos to Mack for creating the dopest bgirl name ever (Destanation), long awaited but well worth it.
